ARB Statement

What angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs) have been tried or would they not be appropriate for the patient? This question is always asked and should always be included.

What Should I Send?

  • Any ARBs that have been tried and failed.
  • If the prescriber believes other ARBs would not be as effective.
  • If the prescriber believes other ARBs would cause adverse effects.

Common ARBs:

  • Candesartan (Atacand)
  • Eprosartan (Teveten)
  • Irbesartan (Avapro)
  • Losartan (Cozaar)
  • Olmesartan (Benicar)
  • Telmisartan (Micardis)
  • Valsartan (Diovan)
